Requirements
The Business Office Director manages the daily operations of the hospital's Patient Financial Services department. The Business Office Director (BOD) is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Business Office and Accounts Receivable Management services of the hospital and related services.
Coordinates and manages the daily functions of the Patient Financial Services Department to ensure timely and accurate billing and subsequent collection of patient accounts.
Admissions: Manage the admission process including insurance verification, front collections and financial counseling.
Accounts Receivable: Monitor and maintains goals established for cash collections, net accounts receivable days. Ensure compliance with both Corporate and insurance billing regulations. Designs and implements corrective action plans to achieve and maintain departmental objectives.
Management Responsibilities: Attends Leadership Team meetings as the primary Departmental representative and advises on all matters related to the Patient Financial Services function.
Skills and Requirements: A thorough knowledge of billing regulations and collection laws and practices for both Medicare and non-Medicare claim submission is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience in a multi-faceted business office preferably in a health-care setting, with one (1) year supervisory/management experience preferred. Prefer experience with managing the collection of psychiatric, rehabilitation, PHP and IOP claims.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in business administration with certification through HFMA or AGPAM (CMPA or CPAM); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
